1. Why do we have to downgrade when we are always told to keep your WP updated? Dont you think keeping upgraded versions help you keep safe in many things.

   1. HI Raj, Yes it’s true it is recommended to keep it as latest as possible for feature and security but sometimes major updates and releases will contain bugs or compatibility issues with your plugins and themes.

      So if you upgrade your site without your plugins and themes fixing these conflicting issues then site will be broken either for admin or visitors of website.

      Which is really bad from business point of view. That’s why this tut is useful so if they encounter a problem like that they can downgrade to previous version which they know everything was working perfectly until the plugin or theme fixes the issues or if it’s WordPress issues then until they come with the fixes and then update directly to that working version.

      Currently there are alot of people are experiencing some sort problems with 5.5 and some even contacted me in my FB group that’s why I decide to create this video. You can see the problems people are facing with the latest version at https://wordpress.org/search/5.5?in=support_forums

      I hope I explained it clearly.

      PS: If you upgrade to latest WP version and if everything working perfectly then you don’t need worry about downgrading. This solution is only for people who experiencing problems.

4. How do I downgrade wordpress 8.1 to 5.5, please assist

   1. Hi Manoj, There is no wordpress 8.1 current latest version of WP is 5.5.1 (You can view all releases here https://wordpress.org/download/releases/) and you can use this plugin downgrade to any previous version.

11. the plugin and your video saved me and my site too! found an installed the plugin, but wasn’t sure how to operate it though. seeing it in advance was good. and it worked from 5.6 all the way down to 5.2.9.

12. Thanks so much. This has been great for two sites have. I’ve having a problem with a third site though. When press “Update core” to go to the dash updates, this is no button there for me to click to complete the install. Is there a reason that might be happening? I’m downgrading from 5.6 to 5.5.     1. Hi Zena, glad it was useful. Can’t be sure of the issue regarding the third one without actually seeing the specific WP installation.

       My suggestion, in this order:
       1. Try uninstalling and installing the plugin and see.
       2. Try to use a similar plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback/

13. Hi! Some days ago WordPress automatically updated my website to 5.7.2 and then it started to have some problems with the responsive and stuff, so I have found your helpful video here and follow your instructions. Thank you for sharing it with us!!

    I have downgraded from 5.7.2 to 5.6.2 but the problem is still there, even the downgrading was right. Do you know what could be the problem?

    1. Hi Jose, Glad it helped.

       Yes this fix not permant solution but more like tempary fix. You need to keep your site wp on latest to make sure you receive security fixes and new features.

       Usally the problem could be with your theme or plugin.

       1. Try to update your theme to the latest version and remove any old cache.
       2. Try contacting the support for plugin or theme with causing issue and they will help you better.
       3. Incase first & second didn’t work try to disable your plugin in one-by-one to see if any of the plugin causes the issue.

       Only after you exhausted these options you should look into other advanced solutions.
